We are seeking an experienced professional to support and manage ocean freight procurement activities for the Europe trade lane. This role focuses on carrier negotiation, rate management, trade‑lane development, and ensuring competitive, reliable ocean solutions for customers in Hong Kong and the wider region.

Description

Procurement & Rate Management

Handle ocean freight procurement for the Europe trade, including negotiating rates, space, and contract terms with carriers.
Maintain up‑to‑date procurement data, market intel, and rate sheets to ensure competitiveness and profitability.
Manage quarterly/annual tender processes and coordinate with global procurement teams on rate alignment.
Monitor carrier performance, service reliability, and capacity availability.

Carrier & Vendor Management

Develop and maintain strong relationships with major shipping lines and NVOCC partners.
Conduct regular business reviews with carriers to secure strategic support for Europe trade volumes.
Drive space allocation optimization and support mitigation plans during peak seasons or market disruptions.

Trade-Lane Development

Provide pricing support to sales and operations teams for Europe‑bound opportunities.
Analyze trade‑lane performance, market trends, rate movements, and competitor pricing.
Collaborate with regional teams to develop procurement strategies tailored to customer demand.
Support new business development by offering competitive procurement solutions.

Internal Collaboration

Work closely with Commercial, Operations, and Key Account teams to ensure rate accuracy and service feasibility.
Coordinate with overseas offices to align on procurement strategy and carrier programs.
Support RFQ preparation, costing simulations, and margin analysis.

Compliance & Reporting

Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and carrier agreements.
Prepare regular reports on market changes, cost trends, and carrier performance metrics.

Profile

5-8 years of experience in ocean freight procurement, trade‑lane management, or pricing (Europe trade experience preferred).
Strong knowledge of ocean carriers, rate structures, and trade‑lane dynamics.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
Proficient in Excel; experience with freight systems is an advantage.
Strong commercial mindset with ability to balance cost, service, and profitability.
Fluent in English and Chinese; strong stakeholder management capabilities.
