Assistant Manager (Residential Life) - Dean of Students' Office

The appointee will be responsible for the execution of work relating to services to help students achieve a fruitful residential life in student halls. Work areas include daily management of student halls and assisting in the housing arrangements for students, promotion of student activities and organization of residential programs. There will be much liaison work with student groups and individual students, internal departments as well as external organizations. The appointee will also need to supervise a team of frontline staff in carrying out the daily administrative duties of the residential building.

The appointee will work on flexi-hours according to a roster and is expected to work outside normal office hours. The appointee is required to reside in a student hall to carry out the duties as assigned to carry out the duties as assigned and perform on-call duties.

Applicants should have a bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of relevant work experience. Candidates should be self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility and be able to work independently under pressure at times. They should have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua) as well as good computer literacy; and good communication, organization, problem solving, project management and supervisory skills. Applicants with residential experience in a university student hostel would have an advantage. Preference will be given to those who have hostel management experience or who were student leaders and were actively involved in student activities. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
