Duties

The appointee will serve as secretary to Head of Unit and will be required to:

(a) provide secretarial service, such as arranging and coordinating departmental activities and committee meetings, maintaining calendar, scheduling physical / online appointments and making travel and accommodation arrangements;

(b) provide administrative support to day-to-day operation of the Department, including human resources issues, planning and arranging visits and events, outside activities applications, staff development / duty function applications and claims etc.;

(d) handle sensitive and confidential matters in a professional manner;

(e) liaise with internal and external parties in a personable manner; and

(f) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a) a recognised degree with at least three years of post-qualification work experience;

(b) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in both Cantonese and Putonghua being an advantage;

(d) a high level of self-motivation, a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work independently; and

(e) good computer literacy including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing.

Preference will be given to those with solid relevant experience in tertiary education sector.

Candidates with less relevant experience in tertiary education sector will also be considered.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
