Department of Hospitality and Business Management

Major Duties:

The appointee(s) shall report to the Programme Leader and Head of Department and engage in teaching and related learning activities, develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning, and assessment materials, support students in their learning, participate in academic and scholarly activities of the Department, and undertake academic and administrative support services of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Digital Transformation programme. The Programme aims to develop students’ understanding and capability to become digital transformers, manage transformation and innovation in the current business environment. The Programme offers two specialised streams, one in ‘Digital Business and Leadership’ and the other in ‘Digital Technology and Innovation’.

The appointee(s) will need to fulfill teaching duties, including but not limited to, the preparation of teaching materials, development and marking of assessment items, and the delivery of lectures and tutorials for at least one of the following modules:

Business Intelligence and Analytics
Cyber Security in Business
Digital Business Process and Operations
Digital Marketing
Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and Business Sustainability
Global Business Environment
Managerial Economics
Strategic Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Requirements:

The successful candidate(s) should have a recognised Doctoral degree in one of the following areas: Business Administration; Information Technology; Digital Transformation; Digitalization and Digital Innovation, or related disciplines, with at least 4 years’ relevant teaching experience at tertiary level and / or experience in professional practice in the related fields. S/He should have experience in supervising students’ Final Year Projects, and have high proficiency in English and Chinese, including Putonghua. S/He must also fulfil one of the following criteria:

(a) Mother tongue / language is Putonghua; or
(b) Received a recognised bachelor’s degree or above of which the Medium of Instruction (MOI) was Putonghua; or
(c) At least 3 years’ work experience in Chinese Mainland or other Putonghua speaking countries or regions; or
(d) Achieved at least Grade B, Level 2 in the Putonghua Shuiping Ceshi (PSC) – Putonghua Proficiency Test administered by the State Commission on Language Work.

Notes:

(1) Applicants who have responded to the advertisement in the last nine months need not re-apply.
(2) The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties at different sites and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays as necessary.
(3) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
(4) The appointee will work at the Chai Wan Campus.
