A rapidly growing organization in Hong Kong is seeking to appoint a Head of Business Intelligence to establish and oversee a newly formed Business Intelligence team. This position affords you the opportunity to shape the organization's data strategy, assembling a high-calibre team, and serving as a strategic partner to senior leadership. What you'll do:
As Head of Business Intelligence, you will assume a pivotal role in determining how data informs every facet of organizational strategy. You will be building an accomplished team devoted to delivering precise insights that empower colleagues across various departments. By designing scalable solutions for data warehousing and analytics platforms, you will cultivate an environment where information circulates seamlessly among teams. You will engage closely with both technical specialists and non-technical stakeholders to convert intricate challenges into clearly defined projects that drive measurable outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and develop a Business Intelligence team by articulating the vision, formulating best practices, and delineating a comprehensive roadmap for success.
- Recruit, mentor, and nurture BI Analysts, Data Analysts, and BI Engineers
- Assume responsibility for the enterprise data warehouse and BI tooling strategy to ensure robust infrastructure supporting analytical requirements across all divisions.
- Design and implement scalable data models and KPI frameworks that serve as the definitive source of truth for organisational metrics.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to ensure timely and reliable data pipelines that are meticulously aligned with business imperatives.
- Translate complex business inquiries from Leadership, Operations, Product, and Marketing into well-defined analytical projects and dashboards that yield actionable insights.
- Deliver predictive analyses beyond conventional reporting by identifying avenues for growth and diagnosing operational inefficiencies.
- Automate and democratize access to data throughout the organization to facilitate self-service analytics for all teams.
- Serve as a principal strategic advisor to the executive team by integrating quantitative data with qualitative research insights for holistic business understanding.
- Uphold rigorous standards of data integrity and governance processes to engender trust in all reporting outputs.
Requirements:
- 8+ years' experience within Business Intelligence, Data Analytics or Data Science encompassing at least eight years in pertinent roles including three years in direct management of high-performing teams.
- Demonstrated history as a strategic partner to C-level executives or senior business leaders with proven capability to influence decisions through evidence-based recommendations.
- Comprehensive hands-on expertise with contemporary data stacks such as SQL, ETL/ELT processes, cloud-based warehouses including BigQuery, Snowflake or Redshift as well as leading BI platforms.
- Capacity to architect scalable BI solutions tailored to evolving organizational requirements whilst ensuring reliability and efficiency.
- Exceptional communication skills enabling you to distil complex datasets into compelling narratives suitable for both technical experts and non-technical audiences alike.
- Experience thriving within environments marked by rapid growth; prior exposure to marketplace, logistics or on-demand technology sectors would be highly advantageous.
