Are you a dedicated educator passionate about inclusive education and fostering pathways to individual excellence in the secondary years? Do you thrive on collaborating with faculty to meet the diverse learning needs of students learning English and those requiring additional learning support? Hong Kong Academy is searching for a fantastic Secondary School Inclusion Co-Teacher to join our team immediately.

This role is central to facilitating support across our Secondary Division, working alongside the EAL and Inclusion teams. You'll be embodying our belief that all enrolled students are fully participating members of the Hong Kong Academy community.

What You'll Be Doing

Champion Inclusive Learning: Get ready to create inclusive environments characterized by mutual benefit for everyone! You’ll be responsible for supporting the effective learning of students with diverse needs by embodying and nurturing our school’s mission, vision, and values across all subject areas.

Drive Collaborative Support & Instruction: You’ll actively participate in the co-planning, co-teaching, co-assessing, and co-reflecting of the learning programme. This involves leading individual and/or small group intervention under the direct supervision of Learning Support Coordinators and collaborating closely with the EAL team, Counsellor, and therapists to meet academic, behavioural, and social-emotional needs.

Promote Global Citizenship & Collaboration: You'll take an active role in behavioural management and pastoral care (including break supervision). You’ll collaborate closely with fellow team members, liaise with therapists regarding student programming, and model the skills of an internationally minded person while maintaining open partnerships with parents.

Who You Are

You are a committed professional who believes in active student participation and adaptive, inclusive practice.

● You possess a proficient level of spoken and written English and a proficient level of Digital Literacy.

● You hold a solid work ethic and demonstrate a willingness to be flexible with approaches and tasks across the secondary division as required.

● You have strong communication skills and a proven ability to take initiative.

● You have strong collaborative skills and experience working effectively with neurodiverse students.

● You possess a strong belief in, and commitment to delivering, the school’s mission and vision.

Preferred Superpowers (Skills & Experience)

● Experience in co-teaching, co-assessing, and planning for differentiated instruction across secondary subjects.

● Familiarity with leading intervention programs under direct supervision.

● Experience coordinating schedules and liaising with specialist.

● A positive, collaborative attitude and a solid understanding of secondary school student development.
