As a Sous Chef at Kimpton Tsim Sha Tsui Hong Kong, you will be responsible for assisting in the creation and execution of innovative and visually appealing dishes, while managing and developing the kitchen team. You will ensure high standards of food preparation and presentation, optimize food cost and foster a positive and productive work environment.

A little taste of your day-to-day

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

Assisting in the creation and execution of innovative and visually appealing dishes
Monitor food costs, minimizing waste, inventory and portion control to meet budget targets.
Managing and training kitchen staff to ensure high standards of food preparation and presentation
Collaborating with the team to maintain a positive and productive work environment
Sourcing ingredients and ensuring food safety and HACCP standards are met
Continuously learning and taking on new challenges to improve every day
Supporting and motivating the team, fostering a culture of accountability and reliability

What we need from you

Minimum of 7 years of experience in a high-end culinary environment, with at least 5 years in a sous chef or head chef role
Formal culinary training from a recognized institution
Proficiency in a variety of international cooking techniques and cuisines
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain high standards under pressure
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to understand and accommodate dietary restrictions
Passion for culinary arts, creativity, and innovation in menu design and presentation
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
