The University is carrying out a 2-year project funded by the Education Bureau via Quality Enhancement Support Scheme (QESS) with an aim to create a vibrant and adaptive community of practice to benefit from free and online tools, especially the emerging Artificial Intelligence (AI) empowered ones, in their teaching and learning practices in Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) and other self-financing tertiary education institutions.

We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Open Learning :

Responsibilities

Major Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:

Conducting literature reviews on AI empowered open educational tools;
Assisting in the needs assessment to identify the specific requirements and challenges of teaching staff and students in using AI-powered educational tools;
Designing instruments for data collection;
Conducting questionnaire surveys and interviews;
Carrying out qualitative and quantitative data analysis;
Writing up case studies of best practices using AI-empowered open educational tools to innovate the teaching and learning mode;
Assisting in the drafting of project progress reports and the final evaluation report;
Performing any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Candidates

Candidates Should Possess The Following Qualifications, Experience And Competence

A master’s degree, or a Bachelor’s degree with a track record of research and publications. Preference will be given to those who are familiar with educational research and educational technologies;
Good knowledge of qualitative and quantitative methods and techniques in educational research, such as the use of common statistical tests;
Very good command of English and Chinese (preferably including Putonghua);
Good organizational, presentation and interpersonal skills; and
Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Candidates may be invited to attend a written test.
