Salary: HK$127,700 per month
Entry Requirements: (a) a Hong Kong Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in Journalism, Communications, Marketing or Public Relations or other related disciplines;
(b) a minimum of 12 years of solid post-qualification full-time work experience in media or journalism with exposure to corporate communications, public relations and marketing, of which at least 5 years should be at managerial level, and any such experience in the Government or public organisations will be an advantage;
(c) a strong understanding of current market practices in new media, marketing strategies and web analytics;
(d) proven leadership and analytical ability in managing teams and driving strategic initiatives;
(e) excellent interpersonal and communication skills with good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua);
(f) Proficiency in the application of common business software (including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint) as well as Chinese and English word processing; AND
(g) met the language proficiency requirements of Level 3 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) [See Note], or equivalent.
Note:“Grade C” and “Grade E” in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in previous HKCEE are accepted administratively as comparable to “Level 3” and “Level 2” respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
Duties: (a) To initiate, plan and develop corporate communication publicity and branding strategies;
(b) To monitor and follow up the execution of corporate communication publicity and branding projects on media and social media platforms;
(c) To manage communications and engagement with public-sector stakeholders, media organisations and business collaborations within and outside Hong Kong;
(d) To manage RTHK’s corporate social media accounts, monitor and respond to feedback;
(e) To oversee the handling of public enquiries, complaints and matters related to programme standards as well as media enquiries;
(f) To lead and supervise teams and subordinates in the execution of above duties; and
(g) To perform any other duties as assigned by senior management.
(Note: Required to work on Saturday, Sunday and public holiday; and to work during typhoons, Black Rainstorm Signal, “extreme conditions” and other emergencies.)
Terms of Appointment: Successful candidate will be appointed on three-year non-civil service contract terms.
Fringe Benefits If the contract is satisfactorily completed with consistently high standard of performance and conduct, the officer may be granted a gratuity which, when added together with the Government’s contribution to MPF scheme, equals 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. Rest days, general holidays, annual leave, maternity leave, paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted on terms not less favourable than the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.
