The School of Graduate Studies is established for strengthening the central support for postgraduate programmes as well as the monitoring of their quality in alignment with the University’s strategic direction of expanding and providing quality postgraduate education. It also proactively seeks collaboration with leading institutions in the international academic communities to co-organise scholarly activities to enhance postgraduate student learning.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate administrative and secretarial tasks for students’ learning enhancement schemes and approval exercises, including direct communication with stakeholders
- Lead, plan, implement and manage academic conferences, seminars and workshops
- Take lead in publications and promotional websites and materials
- Engage both internal and external parties in developing marketing materials, including brochures, booklets, invitations, and onsite decoration, etc
- Supervise junior colleagues
- Support the Manager in efficiently managing administrative tasks and projects
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor(s)
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree with major in communication, marketing and event management is preferred
- 6 years’ post qualification experience, preferably with tertiary education institutions or NGOs
- Relevant experience in managing scaled event and running hybrid-mode activities
- Excellent coordination, organisational and interpersonal skills
- An excellent command of written and verbal English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
- The ability to take the initiative and to carry out duties independently and under tight schedules
- A strong sense of responsibility and accountability
- Good supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate junior colleagues to achieve common goals of the School and the University
- Proficiency in IT & computer skills, e.g. Microsoft Office, Zoom application and Design software
Candidates with less/more experience will also be considered for appointment at a relevant rank.
Salary and Fringe Benefits
The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund and gratuity.
