Datacentre Operations Engineer

Our client, a leading global financial technology business, is seeking a Datacentre Operations Engineer to join its growing Hong Kong team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically capable and self-motivated engineer to work in a fast-paced international environment supporting critical infrastructure used across global financial markets. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining and troubleshooting datacentre hardware, cabling, servers and network equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Build, install and maintain datacentre infrastructure, including rack space, structured cabling, cooling and power.
Rack, cable and deploy servers and network equipment.
Troubleshoot hardware, connectivity and power-related issues.
Manage hardware inventory and equipment records.
Work with managed CDUs, including ServerTech, Avocent or APC technologies.
Coordinate third-party datacentre vendors and service providers.
Support infrastructure installations, upgrades and wider technical projects.
Manage assigned projects and workload independently to a high professional standard.

Skills and Experience

Previous experience working within a datacentre or critical infrastructure environment.
Strong knowledge of structured cabling and power-distribution models.
Experience deploying and troubleshooting managed CDUs.
Hands-on server and network-device rack mounting and cabling experience.
Experience managing or coordinating datacentre vendors.
Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
Ability to work independently in a fast-moving and changeable environment.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Chinese-language capability would be advantageous but is not essential.

Experience with Linux deployment, TCP/IP multicast, infrastructure-monitoring systems or financial-market data would be beneficial but is not required.
