Position summar

The successful candidate will act as Responsible Officer for Type 1, 4 and 9 regulated activities while also serving as Chief Operating Officer of the firm. The role works closely with the founder, with primary responsibility for fund operations, licensing matters, compliance oversight, regulatory reporting, service provider coordination and internal reporting

Key responsibilities

Licence and entity governance

Act as Responsible Officer for Type 1, 4 and 9 regulated activities, serving as co-RO alongside the owner; sole or non-sole RO status is acceptable
Maintain the firm’s standing with the SFC and oversee ongoing licensing, notifications and regulatory obligations of the licensed corporation
Oversee the ongoing administration of the Cayman master-feeder structure and related entity matters

Fund operation

Own the full trade lifecycle, including allocation, confirmation, reconciliation and settlement
Perform daily reconciliation of positions and cash with prime brokers and executing brokers
Maintain positions and records in portfolio management systems and process corporate actions
Execute trades and manage trade feeds to support accurate and timely operations

Compliance and risk

Oversee day-to-day compliance and risk management matters in coordination with the owner
Prepare and submit regulatory filings and returns, including the Financial Resources Rules return
Produce risk reports, management accounts and other internal control reporting

Counterparties and service provider

Liaise with brokers, prime brokers, auditors, legal counsel, compliance consultants and fund administrators
Manage counterparty and investor onboarding, KYC and related administrative processes.

Reporting

Produce internal and investment reporting on a periodic basis

Candidate requirements

Currently approved, or previously approved, as an SFC Responsible Officer for Type 1, 4 and 9 regulated activities
Minimum 2 years’ experience acting as an RO
Minimum 5 years’ experience in fund operations and/or compliance
Background in finance or accounting; compliance experience is an advantage
Strong hands-on experience across the fund operations cycle, including trade processing, allocation, reconciliation and settlement
Prior experience at a fund administrator or in a dedicated fund operations function is advantageous
Familiarity with Hong Kong licensed corporation compliance obligations and fund operating environments
Strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently in a small-team environment
