Role Description:

As a Compliance Team Lead – KYB, you will be responsible for leading the end-to-end Know Your Business (KYB) compliance processes, ensuring that all business clients and counterparties are properly verified in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and internal risk policies. You will oversee the onboarding, due diligence, and ongoing monitoring of corporate customers to ensure compliance with anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorism financing (CTF), and broader financial crime prevention standards.

You will manage a team responsible for conducting KYB reviews, ensuring accurate verification of business identities, ownership structures, and beneficial ownership information. Your role involves defining and maintaining KYB procedures, improving operational workflows, and ensuring consistent application of risk-based assessment frameworks. You will also review complex or high-risk cases, providing final decisions or escalation guidance where required.

In addition, you will collaborate closely with compliance, legal, risk, and operations teams to ensure alignment between regulatory requirements and onboarding processes. You will monitor regulatory developments and update internal policies to reflect evolving standards. You will also track key performance indicators related to onboarding quality, turnaround time, and risk accuracy, using data to drive continuous improvement.

This role requires strong leadership, analytical judgment, and a deep understanding of corporate structures and financial crime risks. You will play a critical role in protecting the organization from regulatory, financial, and reputational risk while ensuring efficient and compliant business onboarding processes.

Qualifications:

Strong academic background in law, business administration, finance, economics, risk management, or related disciplines. Strong understanding of KYB, AML, CTF, and financial crime compliance frameworks. Experience or familiarity with corporate structures, beneficial ownership identification, and due diligence processes. Strong analytical and investigative skills, with the ability to assess complex business entities and risk profiles. Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with experience guiding or mentoring compliance professionals. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain regulatory requirements and decisions clearly to stakeholders. High level of integrity, ethical judgment, and attention to detail. Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into operational procedures. Strong organizational and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex cases simultaneously. Familiarity with compliance systems, onboarding tools, and risk screening platforms is advantageous. Ability to escalate and resolve high-risk or ambiguous cases effectively. Proactive mindset focused on risk mitigation, process improvement, and regulatory excellence.
