ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a skilled Accountant. The accountant, based in Axiom’s Hong Kong office, will be responsible for managing the full set of accounts, including maintaining the general ledger, overseeing accounts payable and receivable, and performing regular bank reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely financial records.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain a full set of accounts, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with HKFRS and internal reporting timelines.
Assist in preparation of financial statements, various management reports for senior management.
Handle Hong Kong profits tax computations and assist with preparation and filing of tax returns with the Inland Revenue Department (IRD), in coordination with tax advisors where required.
Ensure timely and accurate recording of revenue, expenses, accruals, and provisions on an accrual basis of accounting.
Support annual statutory audits, including preparation of audit schedules and liaison with external auditors.
Ensure compliance with Hong Kong company, accounting, and tax regulations and internal control procedures.
Assist with payroll-related accounting entries and employee reimbursement processing as applicable.
Contribute to process improvements, system enhancements, and documentation of accounting procedures.

Qualifications:

Minimum 2+ years of accounting experience in Hong Kong, preferably within corporate or SME environments.
Bachelor's degree in Commerce (BCom), Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
Candidates fluent in Cantonese and English, Mandarin proficiencies are preferred.
Strong communication, negotiation, and vendor management skills.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities with strong attention to detail.
