Job Description

As a Principal Quantity Surveyor, you will provide strategic leadership and expert oversight of cost management, contract administration, and commercial activities throughout the project lifecycle. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered within budget while maintaining compliance with contractual, financial, and regulatory requirements.

You will lead the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, tender documentation, and financial reports, providing accurate commercial advice to support project planning and decision-making. Your responsibilities include evaluating contract terms, managing procurement processes, assessing variations and claims, and monitoring project expenditures to ensure effective cost control.

The role requires close collaboration with project teams, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to identify commercial risks and develop mitigation strategies. You will oversee contract administration activities, resolve commercial issues, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry standards.

As a senior professional, you will contribute to the development of commercial strategies, mentor team members, and support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance project performance and operational efficiency. Through strong leadership, commercial expertise, and strategic insight, you will help maximize project value and support successful project delivery.

Qualifications

Quantity Surveying Expertise : Extensive knowledge of cost planning, estimating, budgeting, and financial management throughout the project lifecycle.
Contract Management : Strong understanding of contract administration, procurement processes, claims management, and commercial negotiations.
Cost Control & Financial Analysis : Ability to monitor project costs, forecast financial performance, and implement effective cost management strategies.
Risk Management : Experience identifying, evaluating, and mitigating commercial and contractual risks.
Leadership & Team Management : Ability to lead quantity surveying teams, mentor professionals, and manage complex commercial activities.
Stakeholder Management : Strong communication and relationship-building skills to engage with clients, contractors, consultants, and project teams.
