We're looking for a dedicated Legal Officer with a passion for social justice to join our team in Hong Kong. This is a crucial role that combines legal expertise with project coordination and stakeholder engagement, focusing on advancing access to justice for migrant workers. Key Responsibilities

1. Legal Casework Management

Manage cross-border casework aligned with JWB’s mission
Conduct outreach activities to raise awareness of JWB’s cross-border casework programme
Support efforts to optimise casework processes

2. Stakeholder Engagement & Communications

Build and maintain collaborative relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including law firms, NGOs, government agencies, and academic institutions
Assist in content creation for communications materials, such as newsletters, social media posts, and website updates, to showcase our impact
Manage volunteers to further JWB’s mission

3. Organisational Support

Assist in writing grant proposals and preparing timely, accurate reports for funders
As part of a small and agile team, provide flexible support to other organisational needs as they arise

Qualifications & Experience

1. Qualifications

Bachelor of Law degree, or relevant degree/experience
A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in the non-profit sector, legal services, or a related field
Language requirements: English and Chinese
Must have the right to live and work in Hong Kong

2. Personal attributes

Passionate about improving the conditions of migrant workers
Strong interpersonal skills and can work effectively and respectfully in an international environment
Willingness to take initiative and adapt to evolving challenges
Self-directed and able to follow through on tasks and responsibilities independently

Terms of engagement

Full-time
15 days paid annual leave, in addition to public holidays
Remuneration: HKD18,000-21,000 per month, depending on experience
Occasional overseas travel may be required as part of our work
