Finance & HR Manager (Part-Time)

Social Goods is a premium bakery and café concept based in Central, Hong Kong. We're a small, fast-moving team building a brand with a strong retail flagship, growing corporate channel, and international expansion in the pipeline (Manila, Bangkok). This role is critical to keeping our financial backbone tight as we scale.

Role Summary

You'll own the day-to-day finance and HR operations of the business. You'll reconcile every line of cash flowing in and out, close the books each month, run payroll, and make sure we never miss an MPF deadline or a supplier payment. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves clean numbers and an organized inbox.

Key Responsibilities

Finance & accounting (≈60%)

Daily reconciliation of bank transactions, POS settlements, and online payments

Manage accounts payable: log supplier invoices, schedule payments, follow up on disputes

Manage accounts receivable: issue invoices, track corporate client receivables, chase overdue

Monthly P&L preparation and close (Xero)

Bank, credit card, and petty cash reconciliations

Liaise with external accountant on financial statements, audit, and tax filings

Support the founder with cash flow forecasting and budget vs actual reporting

Track inventory, food waste, and COGS reconciliations on a monthly basis

Payroll & MPF (≈20%)

Run monthly payroll for all full-time and part-time staff

Calculate and remit MPF contributions on time

Process expense claims and reimbursements

Maintain payroll records and reconcile against bank payments

HR administration (≈20%)

Maintain employee files (contracts, IDs, MPF enrolment, leave records)

Track annual leave, sick leave, and statutory holidays

Onboard new hires (paperwork, MPF, bank info, employment contract)

Offboard leavers (final pay, MPF, tax clearance)

Liaise with Labour Department, IRD, and MPF trustee as needed

Support the founder on HR policy and compliance

What we're looking for

3-5 years of finance and/or HR experience in Hong Kong, ideally in F&B, retail, or small business

Working knowledge of Xero (or willingness to learn quickly)

Familiar with HK MPF, IRD filings, and Employment Ordinance basics

Comfortable with WhatsApp / Email

Fluent in English
