Role Overview

As a Financial Controller, you will oversee the full accounting lifecycle for 3-4 legal entities (including joint ventures and wholly owned subsidiaries) across Hong Kong, Macau, and Mainland China. This role ensures accurate financial reporting for both Bluebell and its partners, maintains compliance with JV agreements, and acts as the go-to expert for financial inquiries. You will lead a team of 2-3 accountants to deliver precision and transparency in all financial activities.

Core Responsibilities

1. Multi-Entity Accounting & Compliance

Manage end-to-end accounting operations for 3-4 entities, including JV-specific reporting and compliance with partnership agreements.
Oversee month/year-end closing, reconciliations (bank, intercompany, JV partner balances), and entity-level financial statements under IFRS/local GAAP.
Ensure adherence to JV governance frameworks, profit-sharing mechanisms, and audit requirements.
Lead tax filings, statutory audits, and partner-specific financial reporting (e.g., customized partner dashboards).

2. Cash Management

Monitor daily cash positions, liquidity planning, and intercompany funding across entities.
Optimize working capital by overseeing AR/AP cycles, and JV partner payment settlements.

3. Partner Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement

Serve as the primary finance contact for JV partners, addressing ad-hoc queries and resolving discrepancies in financial statements.
Prepare and present monthly/quarterly financial packs tailored to partner requirements (e.g., performance vs. JV agreement KPIs).
Deep dive financial / performance analysis on Actual vs Budget / Estimate vs LY.
Collaborate with the FP&A team to provide entity-level data for consolidated group reporting.

4. Team Leadership

Mentor and supervise 2-3 accountants, delegating tasks (e.g., entity-specific ledgers, fixed asset tracking) and ensuring quality output.
Foster a collaborative team culture focused on accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.

5. Process Improvement

Streamline and optimize Financial / accounting workflows (e.g. JV profit distribution calculations…).

Requirements

Must-Have

CPA/ACA/ACCA certification with 10+ years’ accounting experience, including 3+ years managing multi-entity/JV structures.
Expertise in IFRS; familiarity with JV accounting (equity method, profit-sharing models).
Proficiency in treasury operations (cash forecasting, banking platforms) and ERP systems (expertise in SUN System / Microsoft D365 would be a plus).
Analytical skills to resolve partner inquiries and reconcile multi-entity transactions.
Fluency in English for seamless communication with JV partners – Cantonese fluency would be a plus.

Preferred

Experience in Retail / FMCG industries with heavy JV/ partnership models
