About the Role

Alpha Ladder is seeking an experienced and operationally strong Anti-Money Laundering Officer (AMLO) to support the buildout and scaling of our Hong Kong regulated platform.

This role will play a critical part in establishing and enhancing the AML/CFT framework across multiple regulated business lines as the company expands its licensing footprint in Hong Kong, including Trust & Corporate Services (TCSP), Money Service Operator (MSO), Money Lender, and future SFC-regulated activities.

The ideal candidate possesses strong fintech and payments AML experience, understands operational AML risks in fast-paced environments, and is capable of building scalable compliance controls that can evolve alongside the platform’s regulatory growth. While the immediate operational focus will primarily support fiat payment and remittance activities under the MSO framework, the role is expected to contribute toward a broader long-term compliance infrastructure supporting multiple regulated business models.

Key Responsibilities

AML/CFT Framework Management

Support the design, implementation, and enhancement of the firm’s AML/CFT policies, procedures, and internal controls across Hong Kong regulated entities
Ensure AML programs align with Hong Kong regulatory requirements including TCSP, MSO, Money Lender, and future SFC licensing expectations
Conduct periodic reviews and updates of AML frameworks to address evolving regulatory requirements and business risks
Assist in maintaining enterprise-wide AML governance standards and compliance documentation

Regulatory & Compliance Support

Assist with regulatory applications, audits, inspections, and ongoing compliance reporting
Support communication and coordination with regulators, auditors, and external compliance partners where required
Monitor regulatory developments and provide guidance on applicable AML/CFT obligations
Contribute toward building scalable compliance infrastructure to support future regulated business expansion

Operational & Strategic Initiatives

Participate in AML system enhancements, workflow automation, and compliance technology initiatives
Help establish scalable controls suitable for multi-license and multi-product environments
Support training initiatives to strengthen AML awareness and compliance culture across the organization
Contribute to broader compliance and governance projects as the Hong Kong platform evolves

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business, Risk Management, or a related discipline
4–8 years of AML/compliance experience within fintech, payments, remittance, banking, or regulated financial institutions
Strong knowledge of Hong Kong AML/CFT regulatory requirements and financial crime compliance practices
Hands-on experience in onboarding, transaction monitoring, AML investigations, sanctions screening, and operational AML controls
Familiarity with risk-based AML frameworks across regulated financial products and services
Strong analytical, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and evolving regulatory environment

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience supporting MSO, payments, remittance, or fintech regulated businesses in Hong Kong
Exposure to SFC-regulated environments, investment services, or wealth-related compliance frameworks
Experience working across multiple license types or complex regulated structures
Familiarity with digital assets, cross-border payments, or emerging financial infrastructure models
CAMS, AAMLP, ICA, or equivalent AML/compliance certifications preferred
Experience supporting AML system implementation or compliance automation initiatives
