HK Opportunity | Japan Real Estate Investment Associate

Huxley is working with a global real estate investment platform looking to hire an Associate in Hong Kong to focus on Japan investments.

Job Description:

Assist in underwriting real estate platform/GP staking, secondaries, co‑investment, joint venture opportunities, including reviewing due diligence materials and modelling complex cash flows and capital structures
Assist in preparing investment recommendations on new investment opportunities; these recommendations should be supported by quantitative analysis; recommendations will be made to the Investment Committee and portfolio managers
Work with transaction leads to asset manage the portfolio investments, ensuring that implementation of business plans for each asset or platform is consistent with approved plans. Provide status updates to internal management and portfolio managers. Identify risks and challenges that can impact investment performance
Conduct market research including supply and demand dynamics, sales comps, leasing comps, and country‑specific/macro fundamentals
Assist with fund administration as needed, including capital calls and distributions
Support the high‑level needs of Company's portfolio managers and clients

Key Qualifications:

Possess a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4-5 years of relevant experience in the real estate investment/investment banking industry in Japan
Fluent in both English and Japanese is a must
Strong knowledge of real estate, combined with exceptional quantitative, research, analytical, and financial modelling skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment that requires daily interaction with acquisitions, asset management, portfolio management, finance, and accounting teams
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, work independently, and as part of a team in a time‑sensitive environment with established deadlines
Self‑motivated and takes initiative to manage responsibilities and meet deadlines
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to create, build, and maintain relationships with internal and external parties
