A prominent Hong Kong institution is looking for an experienced Senior Employee Relations Manager to join its Human Resources team. This is a high-impact role for a seasoned ER professional who has operated at a senior level in a large, complex organization and is comfortable advising and influencing senior stakeholders, including C-suite and board-level leaders. You will act as the trusted ER advisor on complex and sensitive people matters, lead high-stakes investigations, support organizational change, and help shape a respectful, compliant, and high-performing workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the principal ER advisor to HRBPs, line managers, and senior stakeholders on grievances, disciplinary matters, misconduct allegations, harassment/discrimination claims, and complex workplace conflicts.

Lead end-to-end workplace investigations into high-profile or sensitive cases, ensuring procedural fairness and producing clear, well-reasoned reports for senior decision-makers
Provide strategic ER counsel on organizational change, restructurings, and workforce transitions
Develop and embed ER policies and manager toolkits that reflect current Hong Kong employment law and best practice
Design and deliver practical training for people managers on ER topics, conflict resolution, and managing difficult conversations
Monitor ER trends and risks, and prepare insightful reports for HR leadership and governance forum
Manage relationships with external legal counsel or investigators on complex matters
Partner with Legal, Compliance, and other functions to manage people-related risks effectively

Who We’re Looking

ForWe are seeking someone with significant senior-level ER experience gained in one of the following environments

In-house ER or HR Business Partner role in a large corporate, multinational, or institutional organizations or
ER/HR consulting role in a professional services firm (Big 4 or specialist consultancy)or
Employment law practice in a reputable law firm advising major corporate/institutional clients

Essential requirements:

15+ years of progressive ER or employment law experience, with at least 8 years in a senior or specialist capacity
Proven track record of advising and influencing senior stakeholders (Director level and above) in large, complex organizations
Strong experience leading complex workplace investigations
In-depth knowledge of Hong Kong employment law (Employment Ordinance, anti-discrimination ordinances, PDPO)
Excellent stakeholder management, influencing skills, and sound judgment on sensitive matters
Outstanding written and spoken English + full professional proficiency in Cantonese (Mandarin is an advantage)
High emotional intelligence, discretion, and integrity
