SCHOOL OF CONTINUING EDUCATION

The School of Continuing Education, one of the seven Faculties/Schools of the University and a major provider of continuing and professional education in Hong Kong, offers a wide range of full-time and part-time programmes at the post-secondary, undergraduate and postgraduate levels for young learners and working adults. It also offers in-house training and short courses to meet the community needs and market demands. Operated on a self-financed basis, the School and its College of International Education currently employ about 400 full-time staff and 550 part-time instructors. The School is inviting applications for the following position:

Senior Accounting Officer (25260774)

The appointee will work in the Accounts and Purchasing Section of the School and assist to perform the following major duties:

Responsibilities:

Assist in accounting relating functions such as income collection, procurement, payment and system projects;
Implement system enhancements and perform users’ acceptance testing;
Assist in annual budgeting and other management reporting;
Work closely with user divisions relating to accounting work;
Review work procedures / work system and ensure compliance with the University’s financial rules and regulations in the accounting functions; and
Perform ad hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in Accounting or related disciplines with a minimum of three years of relevant experience, preferably gained from sizable companies;
Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese;
Relevant experience in income collection functions, experience in electronic and mobile payment processing is desirable;
Good analytical skills and PC application including Word and advanced level in Excel is desirable;
A good analytical mind and strong numerical sense; and
Good initiative, great sense of commitment and a good team player.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract ending in August 2027. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
