Position: Senior Project Manager / Project Director

Large-Scale Building Construction Projects | Work Location: Hong Kong

Our client is a well-established international construction and engineering group with a growing presence across Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area.

As part of their continued expansion, they are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager / Project Director to take a leadership role in overseeing major building construction projects and supporting the long-term development of their Hong Kong business.

This is a high-impact position reporting directly to the Regional General Manager and offers the opportunity to influence both project delivery and business growth within a rapidly expanding organization.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the successful delivery of building construction projects including residential, commercial, institutional, educational, and mixed-use developments.
Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, government authorities, consultants, utility providers, and other key stakeholders.
Oversee tendering, project execution, commercial management, safety, technical coordination, subcontractor management, and project compliance.
Take overall responsibility for project performance, program delivery, safety standards, cost control, profitability, and client satisfaction.
Lead contract management activities, including main contracts, subcontract agreements, procurement contracts, and risk reviews.
Ensure compliance with Hong Kong construction regulations, statutory requirements, and industry best practices.
Support contractor licensing, registration, and corporate qualification matters where required.
Build, mentor, and develop local project management and site teams.
Drive collaboration across multidisciplinary functions including construction, structural, MEP, foundation, façade, and commercial teams.

Requirements / Qualifications

Degree in Civil Engineering, Building Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
Minimum 12 years of construction project management experience, including at least 8 years managing building projects in Hong Kong.
Proven track record delivering large-scale residential, commercial, educational, or institutional developments.
Strong knowledge of Hong Kong construction regulations, approval processes, and stakeholder management.
Familiarity with NEC, FIDIC, and Hong Kong Standard Forms of Contract.
Chartered or professionally qualified status such as MHKIE, RPE, MCIOB, HKICM, HKIS, or equivalent.
Candidates holding Authorized Signatory (AS) and/or Technical Director (TD) qualifications will be highly regarded.
Demonstrated leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams and multiple project stakeholders.
