Job Summary

Lead the international commodity trading team, develop and execute trading strategies, and oversee the full trading lifecycle to drive business growth and achieve annual profit targets.
The role requires close collaboration with finance, logistics, legal, and senior management teams and demands a strong commercial mindset, strategic thinking, and a high level of risk‑awareness.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced trader seeking to shape the direction of an international commodity trading business and contribute to the long‑term growth and profitability of a leading global agri‑commodity organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement short‑ and long‑term trading strategies for agricultural commodities to optimise profitability and manage risk.
Lead and manage the commodity trading team, set performance goals, provide coaching, and foster a high‑performance, risk‑conscious culture.
Oversee trading execution, contract negotiation, and settlement processes, and resolve complex trade and commercial issues.
Apply fundamental analysis to identify trading opportunities, maintain relationships with key global partners, and secure long‑term supply and sales contracts.
Analyse macroeconomic trends, trade policies, and market dynamics to adjust strategies and position the portfolio appropriately.
Establish and supervise risk management frameworks and ensure that all trading activities are fully compliant with internal and external regulations.
Work closely with finance, logistics, and legal teams to support trade execution, funding, shipping, and regulatory requirements.
Prepare and present trading performance reports and strategic plans to senior management, providing clear insights and recommendations.

Ideal Candidate

Bachelor’s degree or above preferably in International Trade, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration.
5+ years of experience in international agricultural commodity trading, including 2+ years in a senior leadership or team‑lead role.
Proven track record in achieving profit targets and driving business expansion in a global trading environment.
Expertise in trade policies, tariffs, quotas, logistics, and advanced risk management tools.
Business‑level fluency in English, with fluent Mandarin (Cantonese is a strong plus); strong cross‑cultural and negotiation skills.
Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and decision‑making abilities, with a strong commercial mindset.
In‑depth understanding of international trade laws, compliance requirements, and best practices in agri‑commodity trading.
