School of Graduate Studies

The School of Graduate Studies is established for strengthening the central support for postgraduate programmes as well as the monitoring of their quality in alignment with the University’s strategic direction of expanding and providing quality postgraduate education. It also proactively seeks collaboration with leading institutions in the international academic communities to co-organise scholarly activities to enhance postgraduate student learning.

Responsibilities

Oversee the administrative support in various functional areas of the School of Graduate Studies including, but not limited to, Research Postgraduate programmes (RPg) admissions, promotion/publicity, academic development, academic quality assurance and enhancement, formulation of academic policies and regulations, and programme review and approval
Manage the day-to-day operations of research postgraduate programmes, e.g. in publicity, admission, programme/course registration, academic studies and progress, financial support, student records, etc.
Provide secretarial support to committees
Manage and oversee the daily operations of school office administration and general services
Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor(s)

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree with 15 years' relevant experience in the tertiary education institutions
Substantial management experience and a high level of competence in committee work
Strong logical thinking, analytical, interpersonal, communication, coordination and problem-solving skills
An excellent command of written and verbal English and Chinese (including Putonghua), especially with a high level of English proficiency in writing reports, proposals and minutes
A strong sense of responsibility
A good knowledge in IT applications

Salary and Fringe Benefits
The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund and gratuity.
