Overview
AIQ is looking for an
Accounting Specialist to support the efficient processing of payments and financial transactions, ensuring timely procurement of goods and services from suppliers. The role involves close coordination with finance officers and vendors to manage accounts payable and receivable, reconcile statements, verify expenses, and maintain accurate financial records in compliance with policies and procedures. The successful candidate will also contribute to month-end and year-end closing activities, support billing and treasury processes, and collaborate with stakeholders across the business to ensure smooth financial operations.
Responsibilities
- Processing of payments and financial transactions to suppliers and obtaining goods and services from suppliers promptly.
- Liaising with finance officers and suppliers concerning stock management, financial records and accounts.
- Verifying expense reports and querying invoice items from internal and external business finance officers.
- Reconcile vendor statements and manage communication with vendors, prepare ageing reports and ensure compliance with P&P.
- Communicating with the wider stakeholders across the business and comparing system reports to better manage Accounts Payable processes.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures related to AP, AR and Treasury.
- Processing payment.
- Filing and maintaining supplier records for VAT and Tax purposes.
- Processing customer invoices and ensure timely submissions, co-ordinate with the stakeholders to resolve billing issues.
- Preparing cheques for payment.
- Performing other ad hoc tasks as required by their supervisor.
Qualifications
Qualification and Years of Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting, or simila
- 2-4 years’ experience as an accountant with AP, billing, and accounting support activities
- Experience in the Technology Industry
- Experience in the Technology & Oil and Gas or Energy Industry (preferred)
Essential Knowledge And Skills
- Proficiency in electronic accounting systems, such as SAP, Oracle etc.
- Advanced proficiency in managing vendors, customers and stakeholders
- Excellent analytical and planning skills
- In-depth knowledge of best practices in accounting
- Excellent communication skills toward effective collaboration and client services
