Youth Work Officer (ASWO) (關心一線 27778899 / DSE 27771112) (Media Counselling Centre (Youthline))

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Hotline counseling for youth;
Training for hotline volunteers;
Liaising with schools, universities, and relevant stakeholders in promoting emotional wellness;
Conceive and implement youth emotional health activities to raise public education and awareness;
Other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Entry Requirements:

Study Fields:

A recognized Bachelor of Social Work degree or above is required.
Priority will be given to those with backgrounds and work experience in counseling or youth work

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Experience in counseling/youth work is preferable
Experience in case counseling and related volunteer training is preferable
Proficiency in both spoken and written Chinese
Familiar with youth culture and social media trends
Priority will be given to those with backgrounds and work experience in marketing

Personal Attributes:

Able to work independently and collectively and under pressure
Self-motivated, innovative, strong problem-solving skills
Strong sense of commitment and responsibility
Can adapt to shift work (morning/afternoon/night)

Youthline 2777 8899 of the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups delivers direct telephone counseling for youth seeking advice on emotional, dating, family problems, and career choices. Besides, Youthline offers programs for students' emotional wellness, including DSE 27771112 support programs, Volunteer Training, and Back to school preparation. The DSE 27771112 service is designed to help high school students prepare for public examinations and the results as soon as possible and make rational plans for their future studies and careers. The plan provides four major service areas: hotline and online counseling, further study information, examination preparation, and future planning consultation, to comprehensively support students facing the public exam.
