Project Nature:

Network Administration, System Maintenance and User Support.

Duties:

Serve a contract assignment under InfoTech's headcount, full-time second to serve the Department;
Normal working hours: Mon 9:00 - 18:00, Tue to Fri 9:00 - 17:45
Perform maintenance support works of several production systems, which covers,
- sites located at Lam Tin and Kwai Chung, and hosting on Government Cloud Infrastructure Services (GCIS);
- approx. 100 production servers;
- approx. 2,000 end users; and
- approx. 150 remote client sites.
Prepare technical specifications, plan and supervise the procurement, deployment, upgrading and migration of IT equipment;
Manage and support the routine operation of server room facilities;
Enhance, maintain and support the following technologies: Routers, Switches, Firewalls, IDS, etc.;
Assist in user support, project management and vendor management;
Perform on-site support works in locations including clinic and Public Mortuary;
Provide system support and on-call standby outside normal working hours when required and subject to business needs; and
Any other tasks assigned by his / her supervisor.

Requirements:

Strong team player and capable to work under pressure independently and proactively;
Experience in Cisco and Huawei network equipment;
Experience in Fortigate Firewall and IDS;
Experience in MetroE Network;
Experience in Network Management and Traffic Shaping;
Strong problem solving and analytical skills, and
Good interpersonal skills, coordination and communication skills.

Technical Skills:

At least 4 years' experience in Internet Firewall Technical Support ;
At least 4 years' experience in Networking;
At least 4 years' experience in Router Configuration;
2 years' experience in Virtual LAN/LAN Switching is an advantage;
2 years' experience in PC LAN Support is an advantage;
2 years' experience in Linux System Administration is an advantage.

Non-technical Skills:

At least 1 year's experience in work with the Government;
Good written English is a must;
1 year's experience in project management is an advantage;
1 year's experience in IT procurement is an advantage.
Bachelor's degree/Higher Diploma in Computer Science, IT or equivalent;
At least 4 years' post-qualification experience in which at least 1 year's relevant experience in a similar post and in a comparable capacity.
