The Department of Physics in the School of Science of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology seeks applicants for the full-time position of Lecturer I or II. Major responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses (mostly in physics and data science), curriculum development, student project supervision, and any other duties assigned by the Department Head of Physics.
Applicants should possess a doctoral degree in physics or a related field, with experience in applied data science and/or computational physics. They should also have teaching experience in tertiary education and excellent communication skills. Experience with scientific applications of AI will be an advantage. Applicants with less experience will be considered for a Lecturer II position.
(Duration: 2 years, renewable subject to performance review and mutual agreement)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
