The appointee is responsible for providing comprehensive secretarial support to the Head of Department of Ocean Science and several faculty members. Duties include, but are not limited to, handling travel and meeting arrangements, managing calendars, preparing administrative documents and correspondence, handling personnel matters, and maintaining financial records for various departmental and project accounts. In addition, the appointee is also required to provide logistical support for recruitment-related functions, handle personnel matters upon staff arrival and departure, and support the daily operations of the Department Office, this includes managing office supplies and maintenance, updating communication directory, maintaining records and stock-taking of office equipment and furniture, and providing logistical support for departmental events, as well as supporting the daily office administration and performing other duties as assigned by Head or Head's delegates.

Applicants should have a bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of full-time relevant administrative/secretarial experience, experience in the tertiary education sector is an advantage. The appointee should be a good team player with the ability to work independently and flexibly; possess good interpersonal and communication skills as well as a strong sense of responsibility and a detailed mind. The appointee should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, and be proficient in using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
