Job Overview

They are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Officer to join their finance team on a 1-year contract basis. The successful candidate will primarily focus on Accounts Payable (AP) functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments while maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures. This role is ideal for an organized individual with strong Excel skills and a background in account management. The Accounting Officer will work closely with internal teams to address inquiries and support the smooth operation of the finance department.

Key Responsibilities

Process and verify invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contractual terms
Prepare and execute payment runs, including bank transfers and cheques, in a timely manner
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports
Respond to inquiries from internal staff regarding payment statuses, vendor issues, or AP processes
Provide administrative support to the finance team as required

Requirements

Proven experience in accounts payable or account management roles
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Knowledge of SAP system is highly preferred
Background in the retail industry is advantageous but not mandatory
Experience in handling high-volume invoice processing and payment reconciliation
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Immediately available is preferable
