Department of Hospitality and Business Management

Major Duties:

The appointee will serve as the Programme Leader to oversee the MBA and / or related programme(s) and lead the teaching team. S/He will provide strong academic and management leaderships in the formulation of learning and teaching strategies; cross-disciplinary curriculum development, recruitment of students and accreditation exercises. The appointee will also take part in teaching and supervising capstone applied business projects and student work; delivering high quality programme; and leading and participating in scholarly activities, including but not limited to research, consultancy, networking, collaboration with industry and promoting the Institute and the programme. S/He will be expected to maintain close contacts with industry, commerce, and other educational institutes on collaborative arrangement to promote and ensure the relevance and excellence of the programme. Strong teaching experience in at least one of the following areas:

Business Intelligence and Analytics
Cyber Law and Cyber Security in Business
Digital Business and Transformation
Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and Business Sustainability
Ethics in a Digital World
Leadership and Strategy
Management of Digital Innovation
Organisational and Human Resources Management
Strategic Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Requirements:

The successful candidate should have a recognised Doctoral degree in one of the following areas: Business Administration; Digital Business; Information Technology; Digital Technology and Innovation or related disciplines, with relevant and substantial teaching experience at tertiary level; demonstrate excellent academic and management leadership, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with achievement in cross-disciplinary research and scholarly activities, experience in accreditation exercises, and have high proficiency in English and Chinese, including Putonghua. S/He must also fulfil one of the following criteria:

(a) Mother tongue / language is Putonghua; or
(b) Received a recognised bachelor’s degree or above of which the Medium of Instruction (MOI) was Putonghua; or
(c) At least 3 years’ work experience in Mainland China or other Putonghua speaking countries or regions; or
(d) Achieved at least Grade 2 Level B in the Putonghua Shuiping Ceshi (PSC) – Putonghua Proficiency Test administered by the State Commission on Language Work.

Notes:

(1) Applicants who have responded to the advertisement in the last six months need not re-apply.
(2) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and outside Hong Kong, and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays as necessary.
(3) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
(4) The appointee will work at the Chai Wan Campus and / or nearby teaching premises.
