The Registry is responsible for planning and implementing policies related to academic development and quality assurance, student admissions, registration, records, class scheduling, assessment, and academic policies, as well as administering study programmes and overseeing graduation.
Responsibilities
- Provide secretarial support to various University committees such as the Undergraduate Examination Board and the Student Disciplinary Committee
- Coordinate the degree audit exercises, review the degree audit, potential graduate lists and graduate lists produced by task officers, and improve degree audit processes
- Review examination timetables, lists of discontinuation of studies and potential cases of discontinuation of studies, grade revisions/credit transfer from student exchange programmes and consequential changes in academic standing, academic honours and/or graduation fulfilment to ensure accuracy
- Review business processes and system support, propose system enhancements, and work with relevant parties to develop and implement system enhancements to meet new demands and enhance accuracy and effectiveness
- Review budgets and monitor the Team’s storage and disposal of personal data
- Serve as task officer for specific tasks in major exercises such as examinations, congregations, and dinner receptions for academic honours recipients
- Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor(s)
Requirements
- A recognised degree
- 10 years or above work experience, with at least 3 years at the upper management level and preferably experience in understanding administrative matters across higher education
- A proven record of successful supervisory experience in a people-oriented environment
- Excellent skills in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
- An excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, and proficiency in Putonghua
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse populations with diplomacy, poise, and tact
Candidates with less/more experience will be considered for appointment at a relevant rank.

The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund, and gratuity.
