Salary: $752 per hour (Required to work not more than 17 hours per week)
Entry Requirements:
(a) A Hong Kong bachelor's degree, or equivalent;
(b) A certificate in education from a Hong Kong tertiary educational institution, or equivalent;
(c) Met the language proficiency requirements of 'Level 2' or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent [see Note]; and
(d) With at least 15 years' relevant post-degree experience in education administration, including at least 2 years' experience in kindergarten teacher training for non-Chinese speaking students and administration of education policies involving kindergarten education.
Note: For appointment purpose, 'Grade C' and 'Grade E' in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to 'Level 3' and 'Level 2' respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
Duties:
(a) To support the formulation of policy and handle matters relating to non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) students in Kindergartens (KGs), including provision of relevant training, monitoring progress in KGs meeting the training target, and administration of Supply Teacher Grant;
(b) To oversee the vetting of school plans and reports submitted by KGs receiving the additional grant for support to NCS students, and conducting school visits with a view to verifying the school plans / reports;
(c) To perform analyses, compile reports and statistics, prepare documents and papers on new initiatives under the KG Education Scheme (the Scheme) in particular those relating to support to NCS students in KGs for formulation of related policy and handling requests from the LegCo members/ various stakeholders;
(d) To perform other duties relating to the administration of KGs under the Scheme, such as collecting feedbacks from the KG sector and coordinating meetings with concern groups as required on related measures of the Scheme, in particular to the NCS support etc; and
(e) To perform other duties as required by the supervisors.
Terms of Appointment:Successful candidates will be employed on non-civil service contract terms for 1 year.
