Grow Youth Cricket participation
Grow Secondary Schools Cricket (international and local schools) participation. Particular emphasis to be on schools with predominantly Chinese pupils and for which a specific target will be set.
Increase engagement with Primary Schools. Again, emphasis to be on the Chinese Schools.
Growth in schools’ cricket at District Level and a targeted plan to have cricket accepted as a recognized sport at the Hong Kong Schools Sport Federation. This will involve developing a district-based structure for cricket.
The growth of women’s cricket at school levels and working with the Pathways Manager to devise a pathway from Secondary School to Elite National Level for women cricketers.
Develop a tertiary cricket programme with the goal of holding an annual tertiary competition and begin to integrate with the Mainland Chinese Universities.
Promote the already devised coaching book/syllabus as coach education material to coach to formalize coaching sessions on a more extensive basis.
Grow the Scheme of Teach-the-Teacher / Train-the-trainer by approaching the Faculty of Education of Universities or Institutes.
Build relationships for Grassroot Development with key NGOs.
Your Responsibilities:
The ACDM will manage and coordinate all broad community development activities at CHK – this will include non-league schools, tertiary education centres and targeted NGOs. You will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer and Assistant General Manager - Cricket in particular agreeing the annual goals in line with CHK strategy;
The role will focus on developing the sustainable growth of Cricket among non-traditional cricket playing communities through increased connection, engagement and participation. This will be achieved by developing and delivering targeted cricket programs and initiatives, working with schools, clubs, NGOs and members of the community to promote diversity and inclusion practices;
Promote and deliver school-based programs with the aim of retaining engagement by progressing participants into other CHK community-based programs and junior cricket pathways;
Develop strong relationships with non-league playing schools and tertiary institutions (in particular ethnic Chinese schools and tertiary centres but also focussing on non-ethnic Chinese minority schools) and provide support and resources to assist in the delivery of a branded CHK school programme;
Build, maintain and leverage relationships with key development stakeholders (Schools and NGOs) to increase and sustain participation and provide ongoing support and guidance to school advocates to optimize cricket experiences;
Deliver cricket Professional Development sessions to school ambassadors;
Maintain complete and accurate participation records and contact information for CHK, ICC and Government purposes;
Together with the Chief Operating Officer and Assistant General Manager - Cricket, preparing an annual budget and action plan and submit monthly reports on achievements to both;
Be responsible for the LCSD subvented community programmes and ensure that annual targets are fully met including full utilization of subventions;
Support the delivery of LCSD supported school holiday programs;
Provide timely reports as and when required by ICC and LCSD and ensure clean audit reports from both organisations;
Manage a team of Sport Executives and Qualified Coaches to assist the delivery of the above. Some of the coaches will be assigned to other programmes (e.g., HP Programmes) and you will be responsible for securing their services through their immediate supervisors.
Performance Matrix:
An interim working plan during ACDM’s probation will be agreed with the Chief Operating Officer and Assistant General Manager - Cricket;
Thereafter, annual targets will be set in agreement between ACDM, Chief Operating Officer and Assistant General Manager - Cricket which will be aligned to the CHK Strategic Plan. This will form the basis of ACDM’s annual appraisal.
Other responsibilities:
In CHK’s development project including community and school projects;
To assist in planning and implementation of local community programs through cricket demonstrations and training sessions;
To undertake administrative duties in arranging classes, bookings and tournaments;
To assist in coordination of school and junior competitions;
Schools and community programs coaching;
To coordinate with other organizations and prepare relevant reporting.
Requirements:
At least 3 years related work experience in promotion management / marketing promotion
Good leadership with excellent commutation and management skills
Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
