The Faculty of Education and Human Development (FEHD) at The Education University of Hong Kong invites applications for the position of Post-doctoral Fellow. The successful candidate will possess a research background aligned with one or more of the faculty’s priority themes: 1) Capacity building for the education workforce; 2) Parent and community engagement in education; 3) Equity, ethics and social inclusion; and 4) Child/youth mental health and wellbeing. These themes are central to a cross-faculty research programme addressing social and educational challenges of global significance. The Post-doctoral Fellow will work in collaboration with the FEHD leadership to advance this agenda through research partnerships, scholarly publications, and competitive grant applications. The successful candidate will ideally have experience researching in international/intercultural/interdisciplinary contexts and be enthusiastic about generating new knowledge through theoretical and methodological innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration. The appointment will be for a period of 12 months with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and mutual agreement.

Applicants should have a Doctoral Degree in a discipline such as education, psychology, educational technology, or childhood and/or youth studies. They should have experience working in international, intercultural, interdisciplinary research environments, including a demonstrated ability to work effectively in research teams. A track record of scholarly excellence is essential, demonstrated through publications in high quality journals, scholarships and awards, and competitive funding success. They should have advanced knowledge of theoretically informed qualitative and/or mixed methods research, and possess project management experience in a research environment, including stakeholder liaison, fieldwork in educational and/or community contexts, data analysis and management, and preparation of reports and documents for public dissemination. Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English are required. Proficiency in Cantonese and Mandarin would be an advantage.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract. Fringe benefits include contract-end gratuity, leave, medical and dental benefits.
