Major Duties And Responsibilities

The appointee will assist the Principal Investigator in coordinating a research project, “HKidsMove: A health promotion project to enable physical activity in Hong Kong kindergartens”.

The Appointee Will Be Responsible Mainly For The Following

recruiting research participants and liaising with kindergartens;
assisting in data gathering and implementation;
performing quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis; and
providing research-related assistance.

He or she will normally be assigned to work no more than 17 hours per week.

Candidates

Candidates Should Possess The Following Qualifications, Experience, And Competence

At least a recognized Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, social sciences, health sciences, or related disciplines; a postgraduate degree in these disciplines is preferred and will be considered as Research Assistant I;
Has experience in quantitative and qualitative data gathering (including focus groups and interviews) and analysis;
Proficient in MS Office, statistical software (e.g., SPSS), and qualitative analysis software (e.g., NVivo);
Excellent negotiation and communication skills in the context of liaising with kindergartens;
A good team player and able to coordinate research projects independently; and
A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese).
