System Engineer - Database Administration (REF: ATECM)

Job Responsibilities

Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot servers, storage systems, and databases.
Design, implement, and maintain high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) infrastructure.
Oversee system and database administration tasks to ensure operational efficiency.
Conduct capacity planning, performance monitoring, tuning, and optimization of database systems.
Design and optimize SQL queries; identify and resolve database-related issues.
Plan, design, and operate multiple enterprise-level database servers.
Support database implementation, backup and restoration, data migration, and replication activities.
Collaborate with system administrators to address performance, stability, and security concerns.

Desired Skills and Experience

Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in MS SQL and PostgreSQL database administration.
Strong proficiency in SQL, including database security, backup strategies, and performance monitoring.
Experience with MS SQL Server 2016 or newer versions.
Familiarity with database high availability solutions such as MS SQL Failover Cluster and Always On.
Hands-on experience with system infrastructure including MySQL, virtualization platforms, and container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Knowledge of database backup and restoration solution design.
Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese.
