Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Part-Time Paralegal to join our Intellectual Property Practice team. The successful candidate will assist with a range of matters relating to trademarks and patents in both Hong Kong and Mainland China.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation of documentation for trademark and patent matters in Hong Kong and Mainland China.
Prepare renewal reminders and manage client instructions relating to trademark renewals.
Handle and file infringement complaints with online platforms.
Draft responses to formality objections concerning trademark applications; manage conflicts; handle appeals, oppositions and invalidation actions; and process post-registration recordals in Hong Kong and internationally.
Manage and maintain clients’ trademark portfolios.
Oversee trademark application processes and ensure timely filings and submissions.
Prepare bills and invoices, and assist with billing administration as required.

Requirements:

Diploma or degree in a relevant field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Intellectual Property or Trademark law, specifically in China and Hong Kong, covering both contentious and non-contentious matters.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Knowledge of IP management systems.
Proactive, organized, and capable of working independently while also being a strong team player.
Excellent proficiency in English and Chinese (Cantonese; proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage).
