The Labour Department officially gazetted today (Dec 29) that the new "468" continuous contract requirement will legally take effect on January 18, 2026.
This lowers the threshold for statutory benefits from "18 hours/week" to "68 hours/4 weeks," giving HR just under 3 weeks to finalize payroll system updates.
